Danish Ann Petersen is a well-known international Soprano and is notable for her performances especially in the German repertoire of R. Wagner and R. Strauss. She has been singing at many of the major Opera Houses such as: Wiener Staatsoper, Staatsoper Berlin, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires, Opéra National de Paris, Teatro Real de Madrid and Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. Next to her international career, she is an ensemble member at The Royal Danish Opera.
Ann Petersen has recently performed Elsa/Lohengrin in Hamburg conducted by Nagano (November 2016), Freia/Rheingold at Semper Oper Dresden with Thielemann (October 2016), Senta/Der fliegende Holländer in Copenhagen ( September 2016). In april 2016 she had her debût as Salome, also at the Royal Danisk Opera in Stefan Herheims regie. Further engagements in 2015/16 included the Marschallin/Der Rosenkavalier ( December 2015) at Wiener Staatsoper, Leonore/ Fiedelio in Taiwan (July 2015), Kaiserin/ Frau ohne Schatten in Copenhagen ( September 2015). Concerts followed in Stockholm, Opera de Lyon, Maastricht and Eindhoven, which included Beethoven 9. Symph., “4 letzte Lieder” and Isoldes “Liebestod”, all conducted by Hartmuth Häenchen. In June/July 2016 Ann Petersen she sang Gutrune/Götterdämmerung at the Staatsoper Berlin conducted by Daniel Barenboim.
Some of her future engagements include Isolde/Tristan & Isolde at La Monnaie de Bruxelles with conductor Alain Altinoglu and stage director Sascha Waltz, Marschallin/Der Rosenkavalier with Maestro Zubin Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, 4 Letzte Lieder by R. Strauss with Orchestre National de Radio France Paris, Elsa/Lohengrin at Prague National Opera (House debut), staged by Katharina Wagner and conducted by Constantin Trinks, Beethoven 9. Symph. in Århus, Dk, Isolde/ Tristan und Isolde at Opera de Lyon with Häenchen (2017), Isolde at NCPA Beijing ( 2017), Minnie/ Fanciulla del West in Copenhagen (2017), and Ellen Orford/ Peter Grimes in Monte Carlo (2018).
Higlights in season 2014/2015 included Die Marschallin/ Der Rosenkavalier in Copenhagen, Isoldes “Liebestod” in a Tribute Concert to Montserrat Caballé at Teatro Real de Madrid, Isolde/Tristan und Isolde at the Greek National Opera in Athens, Elisabeth/Tannhäuser with Barenboim at Staatsoper Berlin and Michal/Saul and David in Copenhagen.
Highlights in the seasons of 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 included Elsa/Lohengrin at La Scala di Milano with Barenboim and J. Kaufmann, Elisabeth/Tannhäuser with Barenboim at Staatsoper Berlin, Elisabeth/Tannhäuser in Copenhagen, Senta/Der fliegende Holländer at the Chorégies d’Orange, Desdemona/Otello in Copenhagen, Senta/Der fliegende Holländer in Copenhagen and Wagner Galas in Baden-Baden with Thielemann (Isolde and Elsa), at Opéra de Monte-Carlo (Sieglinde and Isolde) and in Copenhagen (Sieglinde) with K. Petrenko.
In 2012 Mrs. Petersen sang Isolde at Welsh National Opera with Ben Heppner as Tristan, Kaiserin/Die Frau ohne Schatten in Copenhagen, Wagner Concert at Opéra de Lyon, Isolde in Copenhagen, Freia/Das Rheingold at ROH Covent Garden London with A. Pappano and Senta/Der Fliegende Holländer with Noseda at Teatro Regio di Torino.
In 2011 she made her debut as Isolde at Opéra de Lyon with K. Petrenko. She also performed Elsa/Lohengrin at Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires and a Gala Concert in Montpellier with R. Strauss Arias and Orchesterlieder.
In 2010 she sang Freia/Das Rheingold at Opéra National de Paris (Bastille) with Philippe Jordan, Marietta/Die Tote Stadt with Danish National Opera, Ariadne auf Naxos in Copenhagen and Leonore in Beethoven’s Leonore at Komische Oper Berlin.
Her Concert repertoire include among others, Beethoven 9th, Verdi’s Requiem, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang, Les Béatitudes by César Franc. She has appeared on CD-recordings and performances of Beethoven’s Christus am Ölberge and Strauss’ Four Last Songs at the Graz Opera in Odense and in Musikverein in Vienna under the direction of Klaus Peter Flor.
